There are not enough words to fully capture how incredible our experience was at RockingHorseAcres Farm this past weekend.
We rented the property to host one of the most meaningful moments in our family—my son’s proposal—and from start to finish, it was absolute perfection.
First, the property itself is stunning. The setting is peaceful, private, and beautifully maintained, with so many thoughtful details that make it feel both special and welcoming at the same time. Every corner of the space feels intentional, and it created the most magical backdrop for such an important occasion.
But what truly sets this place apart are the hosts, Amy and Steve.
They were beyond gracious, kind, and accommodating—genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. From the very beginning, they were responsive, flexible, and incredibly easy to work with. As the day approached (and all the moving parts that come with a surprise event!), they went above and beyond to support us in ways that made a real difference.
You can tell this isn’t just a rental to them—they truly care about the experience they’re creating for their guests.
Because of Amy and Steve, and the beauty of this property, what could have been a stressful event turned into something seamless, meaningful, and unforgettable.
If you are looking for a place to host a special event or gathering, I cannot recommend RockingHorseAcres Farm highly enough. It is a rare find.

Great little “shack” in a quiet neighborhood. Our kids loved waking up to deer hanging right outside the front door each morning. Close to a few restaurants and a nice area to walk the dog

Amy’s house is well designed for aesthetics and function. The hot tub and fireplace were top on our list when searching for a place and we used them both days. We took recommendations from Amy’s guide to the area and they were spot on. Beds were comfortable. We cooked several meals and the kitchen had what we needed. Amy responded quickly when we needed to check about something. Light switches are labeled, everything has clear instructions, and a beautiful house made a lovely relaxing, spring break girls trip.

The rocking horse ranch was the absolute perfect location for my fiancé and I as we had our families meet for the very first time! First of all the character of the ranch and the size and feel of the space were perfect for our group! We had six folks stay with us, but we also hosted up to 12 with two small children. The event space and the space in the home and outdoor areas were so perfect for this group. It allowed everyone to be together, but also have space and be out on their own as they wanted. The animals were amazing the fresh eggs, exquisite, and Amy and her son Nic were so friendly and available to us!
We couldn’t have had a better experience and now our families are connected and fun was had by all! The weather was a little wet when we were there, so I can’t even imagine how much fun it will be when everything is dry, and you can really fully utilize the outdoor activities! Would absolutely reserve one of Amy’s locations again in the future!

Great cabin, in a great location! Perfect space for a group of 8. The pictures didn’t do its justice. the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and more, and the kitchen even had heated floors which was an added bonus! the hosts had great response times and clear instructions. would definitely recommend staying here!

Amy’s “The Love Shack” was just as great in person as it was in the pictures! The house is in a great location for all you skiers and just centralized to everything. My wife and I are already planning to return next year!

The house is delightful and the parking is really good, all the snow is cleared off, and parking is easy. We had another rental where there was a steep driveway and the parking was treacherous. The house was clean and communication with the host was great!

The house was perfect for our winter weekend getaway! It was great for family time at the house & walking to the lake but also conveniently located near all the attractions. We’d love to stay here again!

We loved staying at Amy’s place. We had lots of kids of various ages and they all found the place full of things to do outside and also enjoyed hanging out inside. With plenty of room to spread out, we hope to come back to Rocking Horses Acres next time we visit PA!
